Area Information for Zebulon, North Carolina

A tight-knit community of just over 4,000 residents, Zebulon is an ideal community to raise a young family.
Considered the easternmost town in Wake County, Zebulon is a part of the Research Triangle metropolitan region.

The town was originally founded thanks to the Raleigh and Pamlico Sound Railroad Company.  The company decided to run the railroad through Eastern Wake County.  As with most railroad developments at that time, development naturally followed along the railway lines.

In February 1907, the town was officially recognized as Zebulon, North Carolina.  The Wake County community got its name from Zebulon Baird Vance, who was the governor of North Carolina during the Civil War.
